The women’s fours has unfolded mostly as expected, with traditionally-strong countries in Australia, New Zealand, Wales, England and South Africa all unbeaten writes Mike Barron.

Singapore gave Scotland a setback in the final session of the day, recording a big 17-8 win.

The Ladies Four with Carla as lead had a great start to the competition.

They easily beat Papa New Guinea 33-6, and followed this with a comfortable 19-11 win against Zimbabwe.

Round 3 was different. Singapore started well and the match was always a catch up with Singapore deserving to win 17-8.

The section had Thailand 2 wins to 1 loss while Singapore likewise had 2 wins to 1 loss.

The Gents Pair with Colin Banks as lead hit form early, and had a great run, winning in all 3 Rounds.

They beat Sweden 18-12, Switzerland 19-12, and surprisingly thrashed the strong Cook Island pair by 24-13.

They have still to meet South Africa and this could be the league decider.
