Huntly's Macaco Gold Team claim medals galore at United Kingdom Brazilian JiuJitsu Association Scottish Nationals event at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility in Motherwell

SCOTTISH title glory has put the Macaco Gold Team Huntly martial arts squad on the national map in the sport of Brazilian JiuJitsu.
The club was well represented at the first UKBJJA (United Kingdom Brazilian JiuJitsu Association) Scottish Nationals held at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility in Motherwell.
Macaco members racked up a haul of 14 medals including five crowned as Scottish champions.
Blue belt Dan Ireland, fighting at medium heavyweight in the Masters 3 category, claimed the gold medal.
Carl Wraith was also a winner in the white belt masters 1, -76kg (lightweight) division.
Elliot Nicol won the adults white belt -94.3kg (heavyweight) division.
Scott Morrison also claimed gold in the white belt masters 1 -94.3 (heavy) category, as well as bronze in the absolute open weight masters.
Youngster Noah Stevenson won gold in the junior III -40.3 kg grey belt division.
Purple belt Christian Linton won silver in the masters 1 ultra division (100kg+) and bronze in the absolute.
Wayne Robinson won two silvers in the 82.3kg blue belt masters 1 category.
Also taking silver was purple belt Erin Beaumont at 79kg (medium heavy) masters 2.
In the masters 1 100kg+ (ultra heavy), Barry Stevenson won silver in division.
Other younger members of the team also made the podium with Lucas Livingstone winning silver for boys grey belt teen 1 (13 years) -56.5kg.
In the grey belt junior 11 boys category, 10-year-old Mason Gray won silver for -42.3kg.
