Louise lifts trophy for local ladies

SUSAN McGrenaghan took the spoils at Duff House Royal Golf Club’s ladies’ five-day tournament, winning the scratch section of the competition.

The golfer, representing Glasgow’s Mount Ellen Golf Club, put on an impressive display to clinch the trophy on the final day.

Duff House golfer Louise Anderson won the Downie Trophy for the best score from a local player, while Pat Casey of Mount Ellen won the low handicap section and Kathy McKay of Crieff Golf Club won the high handicap contest.

The event, sponsored by Downie’s of Whitehills, saw 189 players taking part and raised £600 for the charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Club manager James Cameron said: “The club wishes to extend its thanks to ladies’ captain Rae Topping for her standout organisational success this year.
