Ewen’s side are currently on a six-game losing run which has seen them concede 27 goals while scoring just three.

That run included four games against teams in the Highland League’s top six, but four upcoming matches against teams in the league’s bottom six has Ewen hoping for a late season winning run.

Ewen said: “It’s been a difficult set of fixtures, but you’ve got to play everyone so it’s just the way it goes.

“At the moment we’re just trying to focus on the next game and getting a positive result.

“I hope we can get a few results now. On the run we’re on you know winning can become a habit and losing can become a habit as well.

“We’re really just trying to break that cycle of defeats. That’s the main objective in our next game.

“You don’t get any easy games in the Highland League, so we have to work for everything we get. We just need to go out there and play well on Wednesday and see where that takes us.”

Despite a heavy 4-0 defeat to Formartine United at the weekend, Ewen was pleased with his side’s second-half performance.

“The game was maybe done and dusted by half- time,” Ewen said.

“We made a few individual errors and some defensive mistakes in the first 20 minutes that put us on the back foot.

“In the second half we played quite well, but we didn’t create anything clear cut or work their goalkeeper at all.

“We kept the ball better and played more in their half so there are definite positives to take out of the game in terms of the second half, but it’s’ just whether we can take that forward and produce better performances.”

Keith sit just one point behind Lossiemouth in the league table and lost 2-0 to the Coasters earlier this season. A win could take them up to 13th.

“On paper it’s probably two evenly matched teams,” Ewen added.

“I think it’s going to be a close game so we’ve just got to hope that we can bounce back and have a positive reaction to our poor run.”
