Thistle played host to promotion chasers Longside and found themselves a goal down inside six minutes from a Liam Allan goal.

Harry Copeman added a second for the Buchan men on 33 minutes and when Jack Daniel converted a penalty three minutes after the break, Longside looked destined for victory.

Burghead changed their tactics and staged a comeback, sparked by Finlay Nicol's goal from a Ryan MacBean lay-off before the hour.

Within two minutes McBean headed in a second goal for the home side, and it was 3-3 on 67 minutes when Kelvin MacKenzie volleyed home.

Thistle now had their tails up and completed the turnaround with seven minutes to go when MacBean teed up MacKenzie to fire home the winner.

The result was never in any doubt in Keith where Islavale hosted bottom club Cruden Bay.

Vale moved up to fourth place with an emphatic 11-0 win, boosted by seven first half goals.

Noel Scott got the ball rolling on ten minutes and got a second later in the half with Robert Scott helped himself to a first half treble.

Top scorer Brodie Christie and James Stables also netted for the home team before the interval.

Subs Finlay Milton and Finlay Stables (2) took the score into double figures and Robert Scott added his own fourth near the end to complete the rout.

Lossiemouth United were defeated on penalties for the second time this season in a thrilling Quest Engineering Cup tie at Glentanar.

The Aberdeen side went 2-0 up before Alex Matczak got one back before half time.

Ross Archibald, on loan from Highland League Lossiemouth, drew United level at 2-2.

Glentanar twice went in front only for Matczak to reply both times, the last one being a late penalty to complete his hat-trick and force the shoot-out.

The homesters won 4-2 on penalties.

Kris Duncan's 14th goal of the season for Dufftown wasn't enough to prevent a 3-1 Quest Engineering Cup exit at the hands of Premier League hosts Newmachar United.

Forres Thistle also slipped out of the tournament at home to Stonehaven, losing a scrappy encounter 1-0 to Keith Horne's second half strike.

And Whitehills also dropped out at Banchory St Ternan, losing 7-0.

Rothie Rovers defeated near neighbours Colony Park for the second week running, this time 4-1 at home in the Quest Engineering Cup.

The sides had fought out an untidy Scottish Junior Cup clash in Inverurie seven days earlier, but Rovers were on top form on home soil.

Top scorer Stuart Hodge made it 15 goals for the season with a well-taken double and Phil Watt and Andy Bremner rounded off the scoring for the Rothienorman side.

Deveronside exited the Scottish Junior Cup, beaten 3-0 away to Dundee Violet.
