JUNIOR side Islavale have announced Iain Macrae as their new manager.

Islavale said they were "delighted" to confirm Macrae's appointment – and said work for next season is already under way.

"Iain has been involved in the playing side this season and felt the chance was too good to turn down given the opportunity at a well-run club," the club's statement said.

"He has previous coaching history and will look to build on the work of previous management team.

"He has already started to identify players to bring into the club in the summer ahead of next season with him keen to get many of current side signed up again.

"The Vale welcome Iain to Simpson Park and wish him and his management team all the very best."

Macrae will take over Vale ahead of a new-look North Region Junior campaign.

It was recently announced that Division One and Division Two of the junior set up would join together to form an 18-team league, which the Vale will be part of.

This will leave them just one tier below the Superleague.
