Division one leaders Lossiemotuh Bowling Club hosted champions Fochabers in what turned out to be a superb contest.

Keith Lambert took the first match for the visitors 12-8, but Lossie skip Tam Stewart started strongly and won the final three ends to give the coastal club a narrow advantage heading into the second session.

After eight ends in the second session the champions held the upper hand taking a four-shot advantage.

George Jack dug deep for the leaders scoring 10 shots in the last four ends and ensure victory along with a maximum six points as Lossie extended their lead at the top of the table.

Hopeman entertained second-placed Lhanbryde and held a narrow three-shot lead after the first session.

Hopeman skips Tommy Murray and Jim Pirie both played superbly in the second session recording comfortable victories and another six points as they look to mount a second half challenge for the championship.

Burghead held a seven-shot advantage over Fogwatt at the end of the first session and Cameron Leggat was in dominant form only dropping two ends as Burghead went on to claim maximum points.

Moray Bowling Club hosted Alves with very little to separate the teams after the first session, Aaron Robb winning 12-8 and Ralph Smith 11-10 both for the home club.

Steve McKidd started the New Year in blistering form with a comprehensive victory to secure a valuable win for the Elgin club.

In the second division, Duffus held home advantage against Birnie with the visitors - thanks to Charles Stewart - holding a narrow advantage at the mid-session.

Both second session matches were also close affairs with home skip Davy Clarihew scoring five shots at the last end which was enough to win the session and tie the match 44 shots apiece.

Lossie BC A went on the road to Forres Victoria with Alan Smith and Ian Ironside winning 18-5 and 12-6 for the visitors.

Robert MacRitchie scored heavily at three ends to gain the home club two points with the visitors taking four points.

Leaders Forres Royal British Legion travelled to Hopeman A with Harry Milne and Ian McArthur giving the visitors a double-digit lead heading into the second session.

The spoils were shared in the second session, each side recording a four-shot winning margin which gave the leaders a seventh successive victory and another five points while Hopeman A gained a consolation point.
