BACK-to-back victories have moved Huntly Women up to second in the Scottish Women's Football's North division.

After an opening day loss to Inverurie Loco Works, Huntly have bounced back with a 4-2 win over reigning champions East Fife and a 3-0 win at Westdyke Thistle.

Manager Raymond Henderson has been pleased with what he has seen from his side, ahead of a clash with Dyce – who have also won two and lost one – in Huntly on Sunday.

"If somebody had said to me that after three games we would be equal second, with six points, I'd have been happy enough with that," he said.

"East Fife won the league last year and we went down to them and won. The last two games have been comfortable and could have been more."

This weekend's game against Dyce, which is taking place at the astroturf at the Meadows, will be Huntly's first home match since the opening day.

Henderson is hopeful that – after strong away followings at the last two matches – there will be another big turnout for the ladies.

"Hopefully we get a good crowd," he said. "We have had a fantastic following of about 60 at both of our away games.

"It's great that the girls are getting that following – and it's not just family, it's members of the public. We want to play entertaining football to keep them coming."

There also continues to be the hope that Huntly Women can encourage young girls to get involved with the sport.

"We are hosting an opening training session on Monday where the young girls can meet all the players," he added.

"They will train alongside our first team for an hour to give them a chance to see what happens when they get older.

"We are already well involved with the community and we want to build on that."

The goals in the victory over East Fife were scored by Emily Graham (2), Tilly Storey and Lucy Taylor.

Tilly Storey was on the scoresheet again in the 3-0 win over Westdyke, along with Elsa Stutter and Kirsty Abernethy.

Sunday's match kicks off at 1.30pm.
