The registration deadline for participants is 9am on Thursday, September 7, with no registrations on the day.

There are a variety of categories of race: the senior/veteran race (7.1km); U18/U16 (5.1km); U14/U12 (3.5km); Intermediate course (2km) and the novice flat course (1.2km).

Spectators are welcome to head along and support local skiers at the event as they compete against skiers from across the country.

For those unfamiliar with roller ski, the sport is essentially the off-snow equivalent of cross-country skiing – with roller skis with wheels worn by competitors, who use poles similar to the those seen in skiing.

This video of Huntly Rollerski Sprints from 2014 will provide an insight into the sport.
