The 18-year-old was handed the Scotland vice-captain's position for a three-match trip to the Netherlands, taking on the host nation with the winners booking their place on the world stage.

Lister, who also plays for the Scotland Wildcats senior international team, rose to the occasion with a spectacular batting performance including a century in the final match.

Opening the batting in the first game at the Sportpark Maarschalkerweerd, she scored four runs as Scotland clocked up a total of 135 for 4 in their 20 overs.

Lister, who is also Scotland's wicketkeeper, then took a catch in the second ball of the Dutch innings and later claimed a run out as the home side was bowled out for 78.

Victory in the second match would guarantee Scotland's place in South Africa and Lister had a huge part to play in helping her country to qualify.

After Netherlands scored 94 for 7 in their 20 overs, Lister again opened the batting for Scotland and hit eight fours and a six to score 44 in just 25 balls before being caught out.

She was Scotland's highest scorer as they reached their 95 target in 8.1 overs and celebrated their qualification for South Africa.

Lister's best was yet to come in the third and final match.

The Stoneywood-Dyce player ran riot with the bat, firing 17 boundaries to reach her century in just over 50 balls.

Lister ended up scoring 111 in 58 balls and was one of two Scotland players to manage a ton as Scotland ended up with a total of 223 for 2 in their 20 overs.

She then stumped out one of the home batswomen to help Scotland restrict their hosts to 100 for 7 in their 20 overs.

Lister has also been selected for Scotland senior women's international team playing three T20 matches against Ireland in September at The Grange in Edinburgh.
