Huntly cricketer Ailsa Lister smashes Scotland women's team to victory over Italy with unbeaten half century in ICC T20 World Cup Europe qualifier in Spain

A player of the match performance from Huntly cricketer Ailsa Lister fired Scotland to victory in their opening ICC T20 World Cup Europe qualifier.
Scotland's international women's team regular Lister was again selected for their squad to take part in the qualifying event in Almeria with the opening match against Italy on Wednesday.
The Italians could only score 88 for seven wickets from their 20 overs, Lister claiming a run out in the final ball.
The product of Huntly Cricket Club then opened the batting for the Scots women and proceeded to score a half century, hitting an unbeaten 54 in just 28 balls.
She helped Scotland reach the 50 mark inside five overs, then brought up her own half century with a four in the ninth over. Two balls later she hit her tenth boundary of the innings to secure a nine-wicket win for her country with 69 balls to spare.
Lister is back in action for Scotland this morning (Thursday) in their second qualifying match against the Netherlands.
France are the other team in the competition with the teams playing each other twice over the coming days.
The top two then make it through to a global qualifying event containing ten countries, with two places up-for-grabs in the T20 World Cup, held in Bangladesh next year.
