The ex-Raith Rovers and Dunfermline Athletic winger has completed the switch to Christie Park from Highland League rivals Banks O’ Dee on a two-year deal.

Black and Golds’ boss Hale is confident that the 21-year-old will be an asset to his team.

“I think he will be a good signing for us,” he said.

“He’s been at a couple of good clubs, he was full-time at Raith Rovers and Dunfermline Athletic for two years. He was released during Covid and moved up to Aberdeen for his studies doing a university course and has been at Banks o’ Dee for a couple of years and contributed to a team that has been really successful.

“I put an enquiry in and thankfully we were able to agree a fee. I’m looking forward to seeing him play for us.

“He’s got good technical ability, good pace in the wide areas and he’s got that game intelligence as well. He fits the bill in terms of being a player that we can develop.

“He scored a few goals at Banks O’ Dee and you need to be a good player to be featuring in their team which he obviously is. Banks O’ Dee were brilliant to deal with and I’m pleased to get that done.”

Hale was also delighted to tie up former Aberdeen attacker Michael Dangana on a contract extension for one more year.

The Huntly boss believes Dangana will benefit from a good pre-season and a full campaign of action as he strives to get a consistent run of football with one team.

“ The thing that Michael has struggled with since he left Aberdeen is that he hasn’t had a full season with one club,” Hale added. “He has been here, there and everywhere and he is trying to get himself back into full-time football, which is ultimately his aim and we will try to help Michael on that journey.

“For him, the end of last season in particular and the season before it was the last quarter of the season when we started to get the best out of him. Hopefully with a pre-season behind him he can really go and kick on next season and show everyone what he is capable of. He is a real talent and I hope we will be able to get the best out of him from the off.”

Huntly have already arranged seven pre-season friendlies including Alex Thoirs’ testimonial match at home to Elgin City on July 1.

Hale’s men will host Newmachar (July 5), Bridge of Don (July 8), Pollok (July 15) and Ellon (July 19).

They play Aberdeen East End in Inverurie on June 24 and visit Colony Park on July 22, also in Inverurie.
