Moray's last two surviving north junior clubs in the Grill Cup were defeated on Saturday.
Islavale gave Premier Division hosts Dyce a stern test, with Brodie Christie's 84th minute goal looking like forcing a penalty shoot-out.
However a late Dyce penalty secured a 2-1 win for the top tier side.
Burghead Thistle were beaten 7-0 by Stonehaven, who were sitting third in the Premier Division.
Rothie Rovers also exited the tournament, losing 2-0 at home to Bridge of Don Thistle.
In the Championship, Lossiemouth United continued their fine start with a superb 4-1 over leaders Deveronside - who had won their previous match against Cruden Bay 14-0.
The Banffshire outfit's 100 per cent league record was shattered by their Moray hosts, who scored early on after James Johnston capitalised on a goalkeeping error.
Ross Fiske's penalty shortly after half time made it 2-0, before 'Side rallied and pulled back a goal through on-loan Deveronvale man Grant Noble.
Captain Harvey Kane headed in a Johnston corner to make it 3-1 and a crazy pown goal sealed the United win, with 'Side's centre back sending a back header over his stranded keeper from a long ball through the middle.
New Elgin led hosts Dufftown three times but ended up empty-handed in a derby thriller.
Jack Moulding struck first for the visitors and Dylan McFadyen quickly levelled.
Keir Mackie restored New Elgin's lead and Euan Simpson made it 2-2 at the break.
The away side went in front once again from Evan Wilson's goal early in the second half.
Dufftown found a third equaliser through Kelvin Main and went on to grab a 77th minute winner scored by Logan Grant.
