Garioch Indoor Bowling Club will host a week of gents finals, writes Mike Barron.

It is Alan Rough’s year appearing in four finals, including the singles, two-bowl and four-bowl pairs, and the triples.

He meets Colin Banks in the singles. Alan defeated Steve Buchanan in the semi-final and had an outstanding win against Jason Banks in the quarter-final.

Alan with his regular partner Lee Collins features in the two-bowl pairs final against Colin and Jason Banks. Both pairs have also won through to the final of the four-bowl pairs.

In the triples final they meet one another again with Brian Reid joining Colin and Jason. Ronald MacDougall will team with Alan and Lee.

Jason Banks has already won the club's fours title winning 23-8 at the 13th end, but Gary MacDonald can be proud of his run to the final beating the strong Steve Buchanan in the semi-final.

The final had Jason flying from the start. He was 12-0 up at the eighth end and with a couple of ends to go MacDonald conceded the match.

The winners represent Garioch in the Scottish Playdowns which will be played next winter.
