They are now in an all Scottish final of World Indoor Pairs on Monday, January 15.

Stewart Anderson and Darren Burnett won their semi-final in straight sets 8-6 9-8.

Jason and Paul’s match looked all over when they lost the first set 6-9.

Neither were drawing as well as their last match. They were 1-5 down at 3rd end of the second set. The Scots recovered their form and took 1 shot at 4th , a further 2 at 5th to be 4-5 down.

The 6th end turned the set. Lying shots Walker missed with two running bowls, and the score was now 7-5.

A further lucky single was scored at the 7th to make it 8-5 and then scoring a further two shots at 8th the set was won.

Then came the tie break!

The tie break was an example of fine bowling. End 1 had the Scots lying three shots, but Walker reduced the score to 1 shot with his last bowl. Score 1-0. The 2 nd was exciting

with the final bowls almost touching the jack. Both skips were on their knees deciding the shot, but Walker had it by a whisker. Score 1-1.

The final end had the Englishmen lying shot, but Foster with a running bowl with his first, took the jack clean to the ditch, and lay 2 feet from the jack.

With his final bowl Walker could not draw nearer than three feet.

Banks and Foster had won a great match.

Now for the final!
