Garioch's Banks loses out in Scottish Junior semi-final bowling match

Garioch's Carla Banks has lost out in the Scottish Junior semi-final bowling match after being beaten by Eilidh Weir 21-6 who was also a past champion writes Mike Barron.

Arbroath was the host club and Carla did not start well and struggled to score.

Eilidh drew well from the start and Carla found difficulty removing or beating lying bowls.

Current Junior champion Sophie McGrouther of Abbeyview won her semi-final and took the 2023 title beating Eilidh Weir 21-15.

Carla to reach Arbroath beat Ellie Borthwick (Midlothian) 21-7 in round 1, then Abby Cairns (Bainfield) 21-5 and in quarter final Kara Lees (Abbeyview) 21-14.
