Both countries, this time, had three wins from six rinks, but the Scottish wins were higher, with the defeats close writes Mike Barron.

Team members Kara Lees (Abbeyview), Carla Banks (Garioch), Claire Anderson (Glasgow) as skip Lorna Cameron (Glasgow) beat Wales and Ireland comfortably, but lost against England by one shot to end 15-16.

The score 5-6 at the 5th end.

The next five were England’s.

From the 10th-14th end England scored 6 shots to nil from Scots.

The match looked lost then, as the score was 6-16.

End after end from then on saw Carla’s rink go into overdrive. They got ones and twos to make it 14-16 going into the last end.

The bowling from the Scots continued to be better but try as they might they did not get the vital two shots so it was not to be and they scored a single with the rink match lost 15-16.
