Banff Rugby Club are encouraging people of all ages to give their sport a try.
The Tennent's Caledonia North Region Division 2 club is staging free rugby activity sessions at Duff House in Banff every Saturday from 11am to noon.
The Tartan Touch initiative offers an opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to try rugby.
Activities are based on touch, tag and walking rugby, with no contact between players, providing assurance of safety and no barriers regarding age, ability or fitness levels for those considering taking part.
No previous rugby experience is required to join in, and participants can attend as many sessions as they wish.
The initiative comes following the new partnership between Scottish Rugby and Papa John’s, which was launched in February 2022. The pizza delivery brand is proudly working to support rugby communities in Scotland through the Papa John’s Tartan Touch.
Director of Rugby at Banff Rugby Club, Andy Smith said: "Our goal is to bring our rugby family into the Banff, Macduff and surrounding communities to get people involved in playing rugby, getting some exercise and making new friends.
"We have player buddies to help and guide participants through the relaxed and fun sessions, so all ages and abilities are welcome to come along and take part, they are real family activity sessions.”
Outdoor clothing and suitable footwear are recommended. The clubhouse is open during the sessions for refreshments.
