A Matty Fraser hat-trick helped Jags to a 4-1 win to earn another home tie against Thorniewood United in round two on September 24.

Ten North sides marched on and with three others receiving first round byes, it has thrown up two more all-North second round matches.

Forres welcomed fellow Championship side Aberdeen Uni to Logie Park.

The varsity keeper Ben Barbour was kept busy with saves from Neil Moir, Ewan Turner and Brandon Hutcheson, and Hutcheson also hit the woodwork with a 20-yarder.

The visitors missed a great chance right on half time, Brandon Donnelly firing over from inside the six-yard box.

Three goals in a ten-minute purple patch after half time set Thistle up for victory.

Fraser got his first on 50 minutes from close range, set up by Hutcheson.

Three minutes later Fraser made it 2-0 from Sam Noble's through ball, rounding Barbour to score.

Turner then played in Moir to make it 3-0 on the hour mark.

The goals dried up until the closing seven minutes with Fraser completing his cup treble despite a collision with keeper Barbour, the ball still ending up in the net.

Uni dangerman Nduoma Chilaka grabbed a consolation for the visitors with a drive which Forres debut keeper Logan Morrison got a hand to but couldn't quite keep out.

Rothie Rovers have drawn two-time cup winners Glenafton Athletic in round two following their 4-2 success over Armadale Thistle.

Their West Lothian opponents are unbeaten in the East of Scotland League Third Division but were blown away by a fine Rothie performance.

Stuart Gray's early goal set Rovers up nicely and top scorer Jake Stewart added a second, with Scott Chalmers making it 3-0 at half time.

It looked all over when Stewart added a fourth on the hour mark, although the visitors made Rothie sweat it out with two late goals.

Burghead Thistle put up a strong performance away to Midlands League side Letham, taking the Perthsire outfit to penalties.

Burghead took the lead through an own goal early in the second half and held on until the 79th minute when the homesters netted to force the shootout, which they won 3-1.

Lossiemouth United were beaten 6-0 at home to Arbroath Victoria while Islavale lost 4-1 at home to Dalry Thistle, with Deveronvale loan signing Robert Scott scoring on his debut.
