Forres Royal British Legion juggernaut rolls on in Morayshire Indoor Bowling Association league

Division 2 leaders Forres Royal British Legion hosted second placed Duffus in the latest round of Morayshire Indoor Bowling Association matches.

Forres skips Ian MacArthur and Harry Milne impressed once again, scoring heavily in the middle part of the game to give the leaders a substantial lead at the midpoint.

Neil Mathers led 15-4 after eight ends to put the game beyond the visitors as the Legion made it eight wins from eight games to increase their lead at the top of the table.

Hopeman A had home advantage against Lossiemouth Bowling Club's A team.

Alan Smith won ten out of 12 ends and supported by Ian Ironside, the visitors were in charge going into the second session.

Hopeman battled valiantly in the second session winning both matches to secure two points for the home club while Lossie took four points.

Forres Victoria went on their travels to Birnie. Home skips David Parry and Ronald Roger both impressed to secure the first two points for the village club.

In the second session, Paul Coutts and Robert McRitchie scored heavily in the crucial ends to earn a deserved two points for Forres with Birnie taking four points.

In the first division, second-placed Lhanbryde looked to bounce back from last week's defeat as they visited Alves.

The first session was keenly contested with Gordon Gallagher winning 17-7 for the home club. Andrew Furr played superbly for the visitors winning 18-6 to give the visitors a narrow two-shot advantage.

It was evenly poised going into the closing ends after the halfway mark, Robert Wildgoose finished strongly winning the final three ends to secure a valuable six points for the visitors.

Leaders Lossiemouth Bowling Club went to Hopeman with skips Tam and William Stewart playing impressively throughout their games to both record 15-5 victories.

George Jack made a strong start for the leaders taking a 12-2 advantage after six ends, going onto win 14-8.

Mark Thompson counted three at the last end to overturn his game and secure another six points for the division 1 leaders.

Fochabers played hosts to Burghead with Keith Lambert giving the home club a nine-shot advantage after the first session winning 17-8, while the second match finished level.

The Speysiders took both second session matches to record a comfortable win and a much-needed six points.

Bottom club Fogwatt hosted Moray BC with Ronnie Watt and Ian Mitchell outscoring their opponents to give the home club a ten-shot advantage.

Both second session matches proved to be low scoring with home skips Lee Denoon and Dennis Camp winning 9-4 and 7-6 to earn a valuable six points.
