Jags manager Graeme Stewart said the 19-year-old was his number one transfer target of the close season and was pleased to get business done.

The player came through the youth ranks at Pittodrie and was twice farmed out to Huntly for Highland League experience.

MacIver then made a permanent switch to Formartine and spent the second half of last season on loan at Peterhead.

Stewart said on the club's Facebook page: "Delighted to have signed Jack. He was our main target this summer and an area we were looking to strengthen.

"Jack has been at Aberdeen, Huntly and Formartine and spent time on loan to Peterhead at the end of last season in League 1.

"He's a very technical player and can use both feet so will compliment the other players we already have in midfield.

"Jack is only 19 and I see him as a young lad who will develop and improve even more over the next few seasons."
