A strong first half performance helped New Elgin claim their first North Junior Championship point of the season on Tuesday night.

Hosts Lossiemouth United were also looking for their first league victory but were blown away by a three-goal New Elgin burst in the first half, and an eventual 4-1 success.

Stewart McLaren netted twice with Graham Steele and Kyle Brown also on target, with Ross Fiske netting for United.

Rothie Rovers took on a Sunnybank side sitting top of the league with four wins out of four, and pulled off a superb 2-1 success.

The Aberdonians scored first before Rovers' top scorer Jake Stewart levelled before the break.

The contest was heading for a draw until a Sunnybank own goal handed Rothie victory, taking them level on points with the leaders.

Deveronside moved up to third with a 3-1 win at home to Aberdeen University.

The Uni visitors scored first but a Jordan Russell double and a Kyle Buxton strike made it back-to-back wins for 'Side.

Huntly loan signing Murdo Reid scored a debut goal for Dufftown to help them pick up a first point in the Premier Division.

Both Nairn and the Toonsers had lost their first three league games so something had to give in Tuesday's clash.

Nairn scored after just two minutes before Reid netted in his first game, and a Karl Harris penalty had the visitors in front at the break.

Saints levelled midway through the second half to ensure that both sides got off the mark for their league campaign.

Hermes and Culter maintained their perfect Premier League starts to make it five wins out of five.
