Both teams started brightly with chances for both sides writes Sean Murray.

A remarkable goal for the first of the day saw Ellon United keeper Elliot Wills launch the ball up field and with a following wind it took one bounce over the opposing keepers head and into the net.

Fabulous for our young keeper.

A few minutes later East End broke quickly and our keeper was deemed to have committed a foul on the striker which led to a penalty for the away team, which they took well to level the scoring.

Ellon pushed on and some great play down the right wing from Sam Harrison who played the perfect cross for Scott Gray to finish with aplomb from the centre of the goal.

A corner for Ellon Utd just before half time saw the ball break in the six yard box to Scott Gillian for him to lash into the back of the net to get his second and Ellon’s third of the half.

Half time 3-1

The second half was more of an even affair with the wind playing its part, but is was the away side who took advantage of some slack defending to score ten minutes into the half making it 3-2. From then on there were chances for both teams and some great goalkeeping resulted in no further scoring to end Ellon Utd 3 – East End 2
