The 25-year-old played Highland League football before at Strathspey Thistle as a teenager, where his performances won him a move to Hibernian in 2016.

He made the switch to Forfar Athletic later that year, scoring 17 goals that season to attract the attention of Livingston.

He returned to Forfar for a season and more recently had spells at Queen's Park and Stirling Albion.

Elgin signed the striker ahead of the 2020-21 campaign and Peters netted on his debut for the Black and Whites in a 2-0 League Cup success at Montrose.

His starting appearances were limited at Borough Briggs and he scored one more goal that season in a 2-1 defeat at home to Edinburgh City.

Peters was again on target against Edinburgh last season and that proved to be his last goal for the club.

He started this season with City and made one sub appearance in their 4-0 Premier Sports Cup defeat at Annan this month.

In total, Peters started 20 games and made 44 sub appearances for Elgin, scoring three times.

Buckie announced the signing on their Facebook page.

"The management team are excited to bring Josh to Buckie Thistle FC.

"He is an experienced player who will bring a different dynamic to the squad.

"We have been watching his progress for some time now and when the opportunity came up to take him to Buckie we had to make a move."
