Disappointing results for Garioch's bowlers in Scottish Singles
There were disappointing results for Angela, Carla and Jason Banks and Alan Rough who are all out of Scottish Singles writes Mike Barron.
Angela Banks lost Eileen McEwan of Lanarkshire 17-21 in the first round.
Carla Banks beat Melanie Darroch of Elgin in first round 21-16, then beat Claire Ewing of Headwell 21-15 before becoming unstuck against Lorna Cameron, of Glasgow, a fellow internationalist 19-21 in a very close match.
Jason Banks had a great start beating Michael Keenan of Dumbarton 21-10 but had a nightmare game against Stuart Bebbington 9-21 in second round.
Alan Rough knew he was up against it when the draw came through. He was up against internationalist and a Scottish Singles Champion Mike Stepney of Elgin. He had a great fight and did well but he lost 14-21.
Ex-Garioch bowler Connor Milne of Turriff along with Mike Stepney of Elgin play in the quarter finals in late November.
