DEVERONVALE manager Charlie Charlesworth made it a pre-­festive family affair before Saturday’s 2-0 Highland League win over ­second-bottom Strathspey Thistle when he completed the signing of his son, Colin, from his former club, Lossiemouth.

The young midfielder (22) moved from Grant Park to Princess Royal Park for an undisclosed fee and made an immediate debut for the Banffers when he came off the bench in the second half of a comfortable win.

“My contract with Lossie was due to expire at the end of the ­season, but I see this move as a step up for me and I’m looking forward to the challenge,” said Colin, who caught the eye of the Valley Crew fans when he scored both Coasters’ goals in their 3-2 defeat by ’Vale back in October.

“I know it’s going to be difficult to get into the ’Vale side, but I’ve only heard good things about the club and how it is run.
