Deveronside win as Whitehills cruelly defeated

DEVERONSIDE continued their winning start to the season as they defeated Stonehaven 3-1 away from home to progress into the second round of the Inter Regional Cup.

Goals from John McLeay and Damian Wojcik, plus an own goal from the hosts, saw Deveronside through against a Stonehaven side who are top of Division One.

Whitehills were unfortunate not to join their Banff counterparts in the next round of the cup.

After a hard-fought 0-0 draw with Buchanhaven Hearts, who are a division higher than Whitehills, they were defeated 5-4 on penalty kicks.

Deveronside host Benburb in the junior cup this weekend, while Whitehills are away to Longside.
