BUCKIE Ladies ran riot with an 11-goal haul as their unbeaten league form continued in style on Sunday.
The champions unleashed a tsunami of attacking football which totally overwhelmed hosts Nairn, with the game wrapped up at half-time at 7-0. Buckie added a further four after the break, with plucky Nairn claiming a consolation.
It was a game to remember for the visitors' Lori Lappin, who struck five times. Emily McAuslan celebrated a hat-trick, with goals also coming from Maisie Scrannage, Abbie Marshall and Michaela Munro.
Buckie Ladies manager Laura Duncan said: "Nairn just couldn't handle the speed of our attackers.
"It was hot but it's a testament to the fitness of the squad that they were able to keep up the pace for whole game.
"I had six subs available so I used them all to give some of the players who'd normally play the full 90 a bit of a rest.
"It was a great team performance all round."
Buckie will face Nairn again this Sunday at Portgordon, this time in the Highlands and Islands League Cup, a title the hosts are defending.
Duncan added: "I might have a couple of players missing due to work commitments for the Nairn game although we're obviously going into the game full of confidence.
"However, we'll be taking nothing for granted."
