Countdown is on for a new era in Rothie Rover's history

This Saturday is set to mark a new era in the history of local football team Rothie Rovers when they welcome Longside Juniors to Rothienorman in the Grill League Cup in what will be their first ever game in the North Region Junior FA.
Commenting on the upcoming occasion chairman Brian Cormack said: “I cannot thank everyone who has contributed to making this happen enough.
"So much hard work has gone into this project over the past 11 months to make it happen.
"It’ll be an extremely proud day for myself, the superb committee we have at the club and the village itself in what is my 20th year as chairman of Rothie Rovers FC.
"I am excited to see the team in action”.
On display as part of the efforts to improve the ground will be new match day and club signs which include the brand new club crest which has been designed by Mandy Tait.
During the lockdown period work was carried out at the club which has included the provision of dugouts for coaching staff and a full barrier fencing around the pitch site.
As with other teams the club are yet to be given the green light to allow supporters inside the ground however they will keep social media platforms updated during matches.
