Close result sees Garioch/Turriff Ladies bowlers miss out on Scottish Cup semi-final

Garioch/Turriff Ladies bowlers just missed out on a semi-final place in the Scottish Cup, writes Mike Barron.

East Fife had six points to Garioch/Turriff's four points.

Carla Banks was missing, being in the Under 25 Scottish team over the weekend.

The match score was 20-20 at fifth, 40-41 at 10th, but from then East Fife just got over the line 60-55, and scored that crucial two points.

The rink score was two rinks up for both i.e. four points each.

The scoring is two points for a rink win, with two points for an overall score advantage.

The match score was East Fife 60 Garioch/Turriff 55.

The results were:

1 Stein (East Fife) 16, Elizabeth Fraser (Garioch/Turriff) 8.

2 Stewart 18, Carol Stuart (G/T) 19.

3 Smith 14, Lynn Ronald (G/T)12.

4 McAndrew 12, Linda Harper (G/T) 16.
