A third pro fight on Saturday night awaits local boxer Callum ‘The Sniper’ Stuart at the Double Tree By Hilton in Aberdeen.
Hard gym sessions and staying off the booze during the festive period is not everybody’s ideal way to celebrate the season.
But this does not faze the youngster, who is itching to get back into the ring and light up the Welterweight Division.
In his last two fights he has beaten Casey Blair and MJ Hall in points victories to kick off his pro career.
Now the Macduff-based pugilist wants to start the new year of boxing with a bang.
Stuart said: “I’m feeling really fit and ready to rock.
“Everyone else was out drinking and I wasn’t as I was training but it has got to be done in boxing.
“I was training every day over the festive period and never went out at all.
“It did not bother me at all – I just kept my focus on boxing.”
He believes training alongside his older brother Billy Stuart made it easier to stay focused over the holidays.
He explained: “It is a lot easier as my brother didn’t go out as well.
“It is great to know someone is training too.”
The fighter, with a glowing amateur career in which he secured five Scottish titles, wants to kick on.
He added: “My aim is to get more fights under my belt and see what will happen.
“I need to see what my coaches want as they will decide what I am doing.”
Boxing-only tickets are priced at £50.
