Burghead indoor bowlers beat neighbours Hopeman and Moray defeat Lossiemouth for place in Ed Beattie Memorial Charity Cup final

The top two sides in Morayshire Indoor Bowling Association's top division have reached the final of the Ed Beattie Memorial Charity Trophy.
The first semi-final was a tussle between coastal neighbours Burghead and Hopeman, the latter making the short trip west.
Cameron Leggat made an impressive start for the league leaders Burghead, counting five shots on the fifth end to lead 10-2, and continued to dominate his match dropping only three single shots.
Rondy McKenzie impressed for the home side early on, leading nine shots to one after six ends.
The second half of the game was more even with McKenzie winning 12-5 to give Burghead a significant advantage going into the second session.
Jim Pirie won the first seven ends for Hopeman to lead 11-0, eventually winning 12 shots to 7.
Davie Ross steadied the ship against Zander Main winning 11 shots to 9 as the leaders marched into the final and keep their hopes of a league and cup double alive.
Moray Bowling Club hosted Lossie Bowling Club, with the father-and-son combination of George (junior) and Arron Robb both scoring convincing victories for the home club.
The second session proved to be a lot closer with the coastal club skips George Jack and Mark Thompson both recording narrow wins, but it proved to be a consolation as the Elgin club reached the final to keep their own hopes alive of doing the double.
In league action, Lhanbryde had the opportunity to re-take top spot in the second division playing their rearranged match away to Forres Victoria.
Home skips Paul Coutts and Robert MacRitchie both showed good form in the first session winning 14-7 and 19-5.
The third game between Paul Rogan and Robert Wildgoose was tied nine apiece, and Neil Ogilvie won the final match 13-6 to secure two points and top spot for the village club with Forres Victoria taking four points.
In the first division, Forres Royal British Legion won three out of four games at home to Bishopmill with skips Mike Brown, Neil Mathers, and Jim Hasman all playing strongly as they move level on points with their opponents.
