BUCKIE Thistle are set to endure fixture chaos for the remainder of April - with one match now having been scheduled for a Monday.

The Jags’ clash with Strathspey Thistle at Victoria Park on Wednesday was called off due to a waterlogged pitch, and couldn’t be switched to Grantown, with Strathy’s pitch also unplayable.

The match has now been rescheduled for Monday, April 15 - handing Buckie three matches in the space of six days, and six in the space of 14 days.

The Jags, unlike clubs who are not involved in the title race, need to finish their season by April 20 in order to be set for a potential promotion play-off first leg against the Lowland League champions on April 27.

The fixture congestion issue will be exasperated if tomorrow’s Moray derby against Keith at Kynoch Park is postponed, and with the present weather and forecast that is a very real possibility.

Buckie’s fixture list: Saturday, April 6: Keith (a)

Wednesday, April 10: Brora Rangers (h)

Saturday, April 13: Deveronvale (h)

Monday, April 15: Strathspey Thistle (h)

Wednesday, April 17: Strathspey Thistle (a)

Saturday, April 20: Keith (h)

Saturday, April 27: Potential first leg of Highland-Lowland League play-off
