THE trip up to Orkney may be a long one but it certainly did not knock Buckie Ladies off their stride as they strolled through to the semi-finals of the Highlands and Islands League Cup.

Despite a spirited fight from the hosts, Buckie headed for the ferry with a 6-0 win under their belts.

Strikes from Catie Carter – fresh from her hat-trick heroics the previous week against Sutherland – and Caitlin Carnegie gave the visitors a 2-0 half-time lead.

Carter was to complete her second successive hat-trick after the restart, with Carnegie bagging a brace when she added another goal to her tally and Lori Lappin completing Buckie's total for the game.

Buckie Ladies will face Clach in the Highland capital on May 22, kick-off 12 noon.

The team are back in league action this coming Sunday when the head back up north again to face Caithness with kick-off scheduled for 12 noon.
