Buckie Thistle's massive Scottish Cup date with Celtic is looming large, with ticket news emerging ahead of the fourth round clash on Sunday, January 21.

Billed as the biggest match in Jags' history, the clash with the cup holders and Premiership champions has captured the imagination of the nation, and will be live on TV.

This week, Celtic announced that tickets are on sale for their own season ticket holders and an announcement on briefs going on general sale is expected soon - that will include Buckie's allocation.

A huge army of Jags fans is expected to march on Celtic Park to enjoy the big occasion.

Good news for the Victoria Park club on the financial front is that Celtic sell tickets to their own fans as part of their Home Cup Ticket Scheme. This tempts supporters to purchase briefs for earlier rounds, potentially against lower league sides, as it will enhance their chance of getting a ticket for the final, if Celtic manage to reach that stage.

It could mean as many as 40,000 Celtic fans buying a ticket for the Buckie game, with the Highland League side getting their half share of that revenue.

Celtic tickets are priced at £15 for adults, £10 for concessions and £5 for under-13s and Buckie fans can expect similar prices when their allocation becomes available.

A Celtic spokesperson said: "Further information regarding general sale tickets for the Scottish Cup fourth round tie v Buckie Thistle will be made available in due course."
