DEVERONVALE gained Aberdeenshire Cup revenge over Dyce Juniors with a quarter-final success on Wednesday night.
The North Region Superleague side defeated Vale at Princess Royal Park 2-1 in last season's competition.
In the rematch, also in Banff, it took a penalty inside the closing 20 minutes for the Highland League club to set matters straight.
Dane Ballard slotted home from the spot to land Vale a semi-final match at either Formartine or Huntly, whose tie was postponed due to a Covid case in the Huntly squad.
Highland League met North Juniors in the night's two other quarter-finals, with very different results.
Inverurie Locos had the draw most teams fear as they visited perennial Highland League slayers Banks o' Dee, who thumped Keith 6-1 in the first round.
Locos, who parted company with manager Andy Low during the week, went behind to a Matthew Robertson goal on the half hour mark.
The visitors then had Ross Still sent off for two bookings on 62 minutes, and paid the penalty when Jack Henderson sealed a 2-0 win late in the game.
Aberdeen University were no match for a strong Fraserburgh who ran in six goals without reply.
Two early Sean Butcher goals set the tone, with Willie West putting Broch 3-0 up at the break.
Paul Campbell, Ryan Sargent and Gary Harris all netted after the break to make it comfortable for Broch, who now host Banks o' Dee in the semis.
