Inverurie Loco Works have confirmed the arrival of the nineteen year old striker Robert Ward, who arrives at Harlaw Park in a swap deal that sees Kyle Gordon heading to The Haughs.

Commenting on the moves, Locos manager Andy Low: “I am delighted to add Robert to this group of players and I think he will compliment a very good squad that we are building at Inverurie Locos.

"I have followed Robert’s career closely since he was 14 years old and he was one I identified early on as a player I would like at Harlaw Park. "Robert was unlucky to see himself leave Dundee United a couple of years ago but he has responded to that disappointment in the right way and has had a couple of good seasons at Turriff United and I feel Locos is the right club for him to continue that progression.

"Robert is an ambitious lad which I like so it’s great that he also sees Inverurie Locos as the next step in his development, having had a lot of interest from clubs in the Highland and Scottish Leagues for his signature.

"Although Robert is still only 19 years of age, I think he can have a big impact for the club now.

"He brings attributes to the team in an area of the park I felt we needed to strengthen so I am looking forward to integrating him into the squad when we are back.

"I am disappointed to see Kyle leave the club but when the opportunity arose for him to move to Turriff, I felt it was a great chance for him to go and play more regularly at a good club and under Dean Donaldson who I have a lot of respect for. Kyle’s attitude and application has always been first class and he is at a period in his career where he deserves to be playing more football so I hope he can keep on developing into a Highland League regular.

"I’d like to thank him for his contribution and he goes with the best wishes from everyone at the club”.

A spokesman for United said: "We would like to take this opportunity to wish Robert all the best in his future endeavours and welcome Kyle to the Haughs. "
