Jags' quest to end their seven-year trophy wait gathered pace when they thumped hosts Inverurie Locos 5-1 on Wednesday.

Josh Peters struck twice in the first half and Jack MacIver made it 3-0 at the break against a Locos side now bossed by former Buckie player Dean Donaldson.

Paul Coutts' first goal for Locos from the penalty spot pulled it back to 3-1 but Peters completed his hat-trick and a last minute Jack Murray goal complated Jags' tally.

They now meet Aberdeen - the venue still to be decided - after a young Dons side beat Turriff United by the same scoreline.

Drawn at home, Aberdeen switched the match to The Haughs and may do the same with the semi-final against Buckie.

Former Turriff striker Aaron Reid was among the Dons scorers with Alfie Bavidge (pen), Adam Emslie, Liam Harvey and Cammy Wilson also netting. Murray Cormack scored for Turriff, and the Dons had Brendan Hamilton sent off.

Huntly were 3-1 winners at A96 neighbours Keith, landing a home shot at Banks O' Dee in the semis.

Robbie Foster put Huntly ahead just after the half hour and Brodie Allen added a second quickly after the break.

Nathan McKeown struck for Keith with 10 minutes to go but home hopes were quickly dashed by Foster's second two minutes later.

Huntly had defender Lyall Booth sent off for a second booking.

Banks O' Dee sent out a marker with a crushing 5-0 victory away to league leaders Formartine United.

Lachie Macleod gave Dee the lead before United were reduced to ten men, Aaron Norris sent off for conceding a penalty which Max Alexander converted on the half hour.

The extra man helped the visitors wrap things up through further goals by Kane Winton, Hamish Macleod and Dayshonne Golding.

Nairn County caused an upset, beating a strong Caley Thistle side on penalties after a 2-2 draw.

Veterans Ross Tokely and Steven MacKay - the player boss - had Nairn 2-0 up in the second half but Harry Lodovica's brace, the second just two minutes from time, forced the shoot-out.

Andrew MacLeod, Angus Dey, Tokely, Ali Gillies and Ciaran Young netted County's five regulation spot kicks, as did Jake Davidson, Jack Walker, Lewis Hyde, Adam Brooks and Robbie Thomspn for Inverness.

George Robesten netted Nairn's sixth, Lodovica did the same for the visitors and manager MacKay made it a perfect seven for Nairn before home keeper Dylan MacLean saved Zak Delaney's effort to send Nairn through.

In the final they will play Ross County, who switched their semi-final to Brora rangers and won 3-0 thanks to a second half Alex Samuel hat-trick.
