Aberdeen & Kincardine have it all to play for at Rothienorman

Aberdeen & Kincardine Bowling Association had a fine win against Perthshire 119-106 writes Mike Barron.

A & K now have won two matches, and lost two, with three matches to go.

Next comes Highland at Rothienorman this weekend.

Highland will be a tough match as they, after four matches, have only been beaten by Angus, who have a perfect record of four wins.

A & K, at Kinnoull, met a strong Perthshire team and they came away with 3 rink wins, a tie and 2 losses.

Andy Duncan won 23-16, Matt Campbell won 25-10, and James Harper, skip for the first time, won 28-16.

Mike Mennie also stepped up to be skip and had a fine draw 17-17, while Colin Banks lost 13-18, as did Jason Banks 13-18.

It will be interesting to see the players in Jason Banks rink this weekend as they have lost 3 of 4 games.

At the weekend they were defeated by 16 shots against Perthshire (13-29), by 11 shots to Dundee (8-19), and 18-22 against Angus.

They did have a great game against a strong Buchan rink, skipped by internationalist Mike Stephen, 27-13.

A look at some of the other skips is interesting.

Andy Duncan and Matt Campbell have both had 3 wins to one loss.

Duncan lost against Angus 19-23 but beat Buchan 25-13, Dundee 25-15 and Perthshire 23-16.

Matt Campbell, will be playing on his home green at Rothienorman this weekend. He never got going in the match against Buchan losing heavily

7-36. Since then, he has won well.

He was always ahead against Angus winning 28-13, then Dundee 22-19 and Perthshire 25-10.

Colin Banks against Dundee had a very fine drawing game winning 23-17, but just lost out to Perthshire 18-23.

He won well against Buchan 23- 11, and had the match of the day against Angus just losing 19-20.
