The Ythan Scooter Club, which is based in Ellon was formed following several meets during 2020 by a group of like minded Scooterists looking to come together to enjoy an informal club for the area surrounding Ellon.

Interest has continued to grow, with the members now meeting every second Wednesday evening at The Royal British Legion in the town.

Building on the success of the club and its occasional musical evenings, on April 2 they held a charity fundraiser night of SKA and Northern Soul music where they managed to raise £1000 for the Aberdeenshire North Foodbank which operates out of facilities in the town and covers other areas including Inverurie, Huntly, Peterhead and Fraserburgh

Group members met up with representatives of the Foodbank on Saturday at the Ythan Centre to hand over the donation and offer their thanks to all who supported the event including several local businesses who donated prizes for the raffle.

The Foodbank now has an app called Bank the Food, so people can see what they need or are running low on and for local donations The Royal British Legion's Ellon branch is now acting as a drop off point for them.
