Yachts took to Banff Bay at the weekend for the town's annual sailing club regatta.

Seven vessels took part in the competition, with three coming from other clubs.

They set off from Whitehills Marina this year as the repair work is continuing at Banff Harbour.

Conditions were initially blustery on Saturday but there was a good sailing wind in the end.

The overall results were:

Class one: 1 Dignity (Findochty WSC); 2 Touchdown (Banff SC); 3 Predator (Banff SC); 4 Sunrise (Banff SC).

Class two: 1 Ufor (Banff SC); 2 Young Alison (Lossiemouth SC); 3 Lapin Blanc (Banff SC).

Banff Sailing Club's commodore Helen Robbins said: "We held three races over the day. Afterwards our prize-giving and barbecue supper was hosted in the clubhouse.

"The Yachts provided quite the spectacle in the bay, especially when the boats were rounding the mark by the beach.

"We even had a member of the public come to the clubhouse to ask about taster sessions having seen the vessels at sea.

"We are really grateful to Buccaneer Marine Chandlery who sponsored the regatta, with vouchers given out at the prize-giving. They have kindly sponsored us for many years."
