Residents of Inverurie and the surrounding area including dozens of youngsters with swimming lessons which have been cancelled may finally have a date for the community pool to reopen.

Back in November, Live Life Aberdeenshire announced a three week closure to deal with issues noted at the pool regarding the tiles.

With that time period now long having come and gone, locals questioned what is holding up the pools reopening and why it has taken so long.

At the start of February and update from Live Life Aberdeenshire explained that the contractor wass finalising their investigations into the cause of the tiling failure at the Inverurie Community Campus swimming pool along with their proposals and timescales for the necessary repair works.

A timescale was given for March 8-11 reopening, but further delays have taken place and a new timetable published today indicates -

Refill Pool - March 19 to 22.

Temperature & Chemistry Checks - 23 to 24.

Re-open pool to public - Mar 24 to 27.
