WATCH: Turriff Pipe Band help the Aberdeenshire town celebrate May Day

The annual celebration of May Day took place in Turriff on Monday where a packed High Street and Main Street hosted a diverse range of stalls from local groups, charities and businesses.including J&K Friends of Anchor, Turriff Mens Shed, Turirff Rugby Club and Morrison Motors.

The Aberdeenshire flag was once again raised at Coo Corner in the town with a wide range of musical entertainment on the day, which saw Deveron FM provide the ambient soundtrack to the festivities along with performances from Turriff Community Singers, Turriff Pipe Band and Turriff Silver Band all help the town celebrate the public holiday.

Visitors from across the local and wider north-east were also treated to a special event as local sweet shop 2nd Dimension celebrated its first year under the ownership of Sharon Winton; “It’s been an amazing year and I love all the support that we’ve received from the local community. I set up a prize draw for the day and a celebratory birthday cake that we have been sharing with customers.”
