Ury Riverside Park in winter proves a winner for photographer

CAPTURING Nature at Ury Riverside Park was the remit given by the trustees for a photographic competition earlier this year.

Said chairman Martin Auld: "We were hoping to find photographs for our 2024 calendar but in fact we had so many entries we'll have photos for 2025 as well."

Entries which totalled over 40, were judged by Provost Judy Whyte, Inverurie Bid manager Derek Ritchie and Mike Hebenden, chair of Inverurie Community Council.

The winning image came from Dave Valentine with his striking image of Ury river bend in winter which features on the cover of the 2024 calendar.

His prize, a luncheon voucher for two at Fennel restaurant, Burn Lane, Inverurie was presented by general manager Emma Cowie.
