A plea for help from Seafield Veterinary Group in Land Street, Keith:

"Yesterday morning one of our vets was attending a cat and it managed to get out of the consulting room during examination.

Please help find William

"Unfortunately, due to Covid- 19 the waiting room door was pinned open to avoid contact with the handle and restrict any contamination.

"The outside door was also open as other customers were being attended to.

"The practice does not allow clients into the practice in Keith at the moment.

"The terrified cat "William" ran out of the door and was last sighted headed down Land street.

"There was a possible sighting shortly afterwards near Keith Garage.

"It is hoped and possible that William may be making his way home to his loving home in Grange.

"His family are obviously distraught and heartbroken that William was allowed to escape like this and all of us at Seafield Veterinary Group would appreciate everyone keeping an eye out for this lovely cat. "We long to have him back home with his family.

"A reward of £100 will be offered to anyone who returns William or any information leading to his safe return."

Story update (6pm): William's owners say they are also offering a £100 reward.
