The £190,000 project will see the installation of a new 680 metre filter drain on the A90 between Lonmay and Crimond, helping alleviate flooding on the A90 carriageway.

Work will take place from the A90/B9033 junction to Green Burn, just south of Lonmay.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the work will be undertaken using temporary traffic lights and a southbound lane closure between these points.

Further work at this location is currently scheduled to be undertaken between Wednesday, January 10 and Friday 12 to complete the improvements.

The work, which Amey is carrying out on behalf of Transport Scotland, will benefit more than 6300 vehicles who use this route each day.

The improvements will complement the recent installation of a new 735 metre filter drain just north of this location on the A90, between the A90/A952 junction to south of Rathen and are subject to weather conditions.
