Two arrested as woman (32) hospitalised after alleged stabbing in Buckie

TWO people have been arrested after a woman was hospitalised by an alleged stabbing in Buckie.

A man (32) and a woman (29) are due to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court in connection with the incident, which happened on Milton Drive, near the Scotmid store, in broad daylight.

The 32-year-old victim was flown to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by air ambulance from Millbank Primary School. Her condition is unknown.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a woman having been assaulted at Milton Drive in Buckie shortly before 1pm on Sunday, June 11.

“The 32-year-old woman was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

“A 32-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and are expected to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court on Monday, June 12.

“Reports have been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

Milton Drive was taped off for the majority of Sunday while police investigated at the scene. A Volvo car and an orange push bike were examined.

One local resident described the scene.

"Apparently two quines got into an argument and then one of them was stabbed," he said. "There were police cars all over the place.

"It happened in broad daylight. It happened in front of bairns, it was mental."
