AN Inverurie based drinks business has launched a new Christmas gift set.

Twice Buried Rum, which was started by Kevin Bonarius in October last year, is distilled in Aberdeenshire using local produce including botanicals, strawberries from Barra Berries, Aberdeenshire honey, salted caramel and spices.

The spiced rum is named after the story of Inverurie’s legendary Mary Elphinstone and is currently stocked in over 100 locations across the north-east.

Owner Kevin hopes his drink will be the Christmas spirit of choice this festive season, as he launches a new gift set in collaboration with Mackie’s of Scotland.

Featuring two 50ml bottles of rum, two mixers, a bag of Mackie’s crisps and a Mackie’s chocolate bar, Kevin hopes the new gift set will be the perfect accompaniment to a quiet night in or make the ideal Christmas stocking filler.

Kevin explained: “After a fantastic first year in business, I’m delighted to be working with Mackie’s of Scotland to bring this new product to market in time for Christmas.”

Stuart Common, Sales and Marketing Director at Mackie’s of Scotland said: "Based only a few miles away from our farm, we are thrilled to be working with Twice Buried Rum on their Christmas gift packs. We love to collaborate with local companies and are impressed with what Kevin and team have achieved since their business was founded.”

The new gift sets are available online from www.twiceburied.co.uk. In addition, Kevin will be at the Inverurie Christmas lights switch on November 28th.
