Recycling scheme Sports Kits For All officially launched in Turriff at the weekend with a morning of activities.

The aim of Sports Kit For All is to recycle outgrown or unwanted exercise clothing and ensure everybody can access the right kit when they need it.

All donated items are in a cabinet in the foyer of Turriff Sports Centre which can be accessed for free by anybody in need of athletic wear.

It aims to eradicate access to appropriate clothing as a barrier to people in our local area participating in sport, while also reducing unnecessary waste.

To launch the scheme organisers hosted a free activities day which gave people of all ages the opportunity to try their hand at badminton, table tennis, climbing and zorbing.

It was also the perfect opportunity to see the cabinet in action and be amongst the first to benefit from the Sports Kit For All scheme.

A generous donation from Network Of Wellbeing meant that free t-shirts were available to visitors on the day, with the remaining t-shirts added to the kit cabinet.

The scheme is ongoing, and donations of outgrown or unwanted sportswear which could be given a second life can be donated into one of the Sports Kit For All collection bins in Turriff Sports Centre, Turriff Academy, Turriff Primary School or the Baden Powell Community Hall.
