Tree felling to take place at Duff House

Contractors will be undertaking the first phase of tree felling adjacent to the Ice House in Duff House grounds, Banff, from Monday, February 20 to Friday, February 24.

They will be clearing a large number of dead trees which have succumbed to Dutch Elm Disease as well as damaged trees dating back to Storm Arwen which have resulted in periodic blocking of the footpath as well as safety concerns.

An Aberdeenshire Council spokesman said: "Careful felling will also create space for the next generation of trees to become established, ensuring the woodland thrives for years to come.

"The contractor will try to keep the paths open, but it will be necessary to close some sections temporarily during active operations for safety reasons.

"Please do not enter the active harvesting site and keep dogs under close control at all times."
